What we do

Nature is the foundation of all life on Earth. But this foundation is under threat. That is why we work with local communities around the world to protect and strengthen their nature and their rights. We focus in particular on areas where biodiversity is under pressure and which are important for nature conservation and the people who depend on these areas. Our vision is a just world, including for nature.

IUCN NL always works in close collaboration with local partners. We connect. We do this by working with a wide range of partners, including nature organisations, governments, businesses and research institutes. In this way, we work towards a holistic approach to nature conservation and sustainable development that takes into account all relevant aspects and interests: ecological, economic and socio-cultural. We work in a multidisciplinary and cross-border manner, linking knowledge, policy and practice, and connecting the local with the international.
